Map #6 covers some of the finest wilderness areas within the BWCAW. It offers great canoe routes, a few hiking opportunities, and a unique opportunity to explore an evolving forest wilderness. Major lakes Saganaga Lake, Sea Gull Lake, Knife Lake, and vicinity.
Each map contains comprehensive planning information such as the most difficult portages on each map, human history, 1999 blowdown impact, etc. A closeup of the maps shows additional features. The maps are to be printed in 5 colors, and include many useful features not shown on currently available maps, such as primitive management areas, historic portages that are no longer maintained, and useful fisheries tables on each map giving a summary of DNR fisheries data.
