Voyageur Map #9-Gunflint lake, Brule Lake, South Lake, Poplar Lake

Map #9 covers portions of the eastern BWCAW on both north and south sides of the Gunflint Trail. This area offers world class canoe routes, good hiking opportunities, and a network of excellent groomed cross-coutry skiiing trails. Major Lakes-Gunflint Lake, Brule Lake, South Lake, and vicinity.

Each map contains comprehensive planning information such as the most difficult portages on each map, human history, 1999 blowdown impact, etc. A closeup of the maps shows additional features. The maps are to be printed in 5 colors, and include many useful features not shown on currently available maps, such as primitive management areas, historic portages that are no longer maintained, and useful fisheries tables on each map giving a summary of DNR fisheries data.
