Pack up your provisions on the BMW Conestoga wagon and prepare for the long, arduous trip down the Fernberg Road to Red Rock Wilderness Store. It’ll be 15-20 minutes of thrills and chills driving along a road in the woods on asphalt. You might see a wolf, moose or deer along the way. Make sure you change oil in the car before you head out on the journey and check your gas gauge because 15 miles from Ely is like what they call “going shopping” in Minneapolis, but here in the woods, it’s the “safari of a lifetime”. So “grab yer old ladies and pack up the babies and everyone go” to Red Rock.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll see on the first floor. Yes, we stock fishing tackle. This is not all of it because I ran around the room with a camera, but you should get an idea as to whether or not you should take that “long and winding road” that leads to our door. Lots of song references in this post. Nobody really sings about tackle, however. It’s always about “feelings” and “love” and “broken hearts”, etc. There ought to be music about tackle. After I’m done with this post, I’m going to bang out a song about tackle. Look out Billboard Top 10,000, here comes Joe!
So, there you have a smattering of what you can see when you make that long, arduous journey to Red Rock on the Fernberg road, 15 miles northeast of Ely, MN. I haven’t even made it to the up stairs yet.
